100 books within the year.
Starting January 1, 2011.
Ending December 31, 2011.
That’s 365 days, so about 3.65 days per book.

Lofty? Yes.
Worth it? Also yes.

The rule is that it cannot be a book that I’ve already read.

As for the title, One Hundred Years of Solitude is one of my favorite books, and I figured that reading 100 books in only a year will wind up providing me with a great deal of solitude. Please allow me to toot my own horn for being so clever.

I’m Late! I’m Late! For a Very Important Date!

Between working so much lately, being sick, and other things that I won’t delve into at this point, I never got around to starting reading! Today is the 5th and I am so far behind!

Never fear!

After work today I went to the library. I sat there and read The Winter’s Tale. Luckily, I find reading Shakespeare to be quite like riding a bike. I have some very good English teachers to thank for that. All I really have to say about it is that I absolutely hate the ending. I just don’t care for tragicomedies. More than the first half is intense, and I love that. And then it just gets silly.  I hate how everyone ends up oh so happy and all the ends get tied up in ways that don’t really make much sense.
