100 books within the year.
Starting January 1, 2011.
Ending December 31, 2011.
That’s 365 days, so about 3.65 days per book.

Lofty? Yes.
Worth it? Also yes.

The rule is that it cannot be a book that I’ve already read.

As for the title, One Hundred Years of Solitude is one of my favorite books, and I figured that reading 100 books in only a year will wind up providing me with a great deal of solitude. Please allow me to toot my own horn for being so clever.

Greetings.
This is where things really get started here on this blog. Let me begin this by explaining to you my library adventures today.
As some of you may remember, I moved recently. This is the main reason that it has taken me so long to post my list of books and to keep you guys updated on what will be happening in the following year. Today I ventured out to go get a library card. I cannot remember if I mentioned this or not, but I moved to a very, very tiny town.
Upon getting to the library, I realize that it is possibly one of the smallest libraries that I have ever seen. I get a library card there anyways, and begin browsing. As far as Classics go, I’ll be set. No problems. But that’s about it with this library.
So I drove into Huntsville, and now I have a Madison County Library card, which I had to pay $15 for. I feel that this cost is more than worth it, seeing as how I will need a large library, inner-library loans (there was a $2 per book fee on library loans at the other one!), and of course, WiFi.
I’m fond of this library already. Then again, libraries feel like home to me.
And on that note, I leave you to post my list of 100 books that I will be reading next year. (And maybe search the shelves for something to read on the downtime before the first of the year.)
