100 books within the year.
Starting January 1, 2011.
Ending December 31, 2011.
That’s 365 days, so about 3.65 days per book.

Lofty? Yes.
Worth it? Also yes.

The rule is that it cannot be a book that I’ve already read.

As for the title, One Hundred Years of Solitude is one of my favorite books, and I figured that reading 100 books in only a year will wind up providing me with a great deal of solitude. Please allow me to toot my own horn for being so clever.

Curious George.
When I was in kindergarten I read all of these. I think there were 7 and then some that weren’t a part of the “original” collection. They are the first books that I can remember ever reading entirely my own, and for that reason, Curious George will always have a special place in my heart.
