100 books within the year.
Starting January 1, 2011.
Ending December 31, 2011.
That’s 365 days, so about 3.65 days per book.

Lofty? Yes.
Worth it? Also yes.

The rule is that it cannot be a book that I’ve already read.

As for the title, One Hundred Years of Solitude is one of my favorite books, and I figured that reading 100 books in only a year will wind up providing me with a great deal of solitude. Please allow me to toot my own horn for being so clever.

"Blue Like Jazz" - Donald Miller

I’m so glad that you suggested this. A while back I read an interview with Jamie Tworkowksi (the founder of TWLOHA) where he talked about this book. He said,  “Blue Like Jazz was the book that taught me that it might be okay to be honest, okay to ask questions. It was also the book that taught me about community, that people need other people. Maybe more than anything, it was the book that made me want to start writing.”

I had forgotten all about this book, and that interview until I read this post. Thank you so much, this will definitely be on the list!
