judydark-deactivated20110920 asked: I'm really impressed by your goal of 100 books in a year! I totally believe you can do it. :) I am trying to read 52, because I figure a book a week is a perfectly reasonable goal. I love reading, so I'm really excited.

PS- I also love One Hundred Years of Solitude, so I think your blog title's great. :)

So right now I pretty much feel like a failure.
But let me just be honest with you for a second. There is absolutely no way that I can read one hundred books this year. Some other year, maybe. Not this one. With working all of the time, trying to get back into college, and as sick as I’ve been, I’m so behind that there is just no way to catch up. I still want to blog as I read though. That much I will do, because I will for sure...

Unwinding
kariinnc: My best loved books all have wavy, warped corners from where they got wet and didn’t dry as flat as the rest of the page. There is nothing more relaxing than contently reading in a bubble bath. Nothing.

I'm Late! I'm Late! For a Very Important Date!
Between working so much lately, being sick, and other things that I won’t delve into at this point, I never got around to starting reading! Today is the 5th and I am so far behind! Never fear! After work today I went to the library. I sat there and read The Winter’s Tale. Luckily, I find reading Shakespeare to be quite like riding a bike. I have some very good English teachers to...

Wow.
I really have not updated this Tumblr in a while. My appologies. Between moving and getting a new job and all, I’ve been terribly busy. I will be finalizing and posting my list of 100 books soon.

In the Desert - Stephen Crane
In the desert I saw a creature, naked, bestial, Who, squatting upon the ground, Held his heart in his hands, And ate of it. I said, “Is it good, friend?” “It is bitter – bitter”, he answered, “But I like it Because it is bitter, And because it is my heart.”
